Do you have a dinosaur lover in your house? We sure do! What’s not to love?! They are cuddly, fuzzy, gentle animals…ok, maybe not exactly. But they are pretty neat! There is something so incredible about dinosaurs. Even I enjoy learning about them with my kiddos!
My nephew is obsessed with dinosaurs! We definitely like dinosaurs at our house, but not like that sweet boy. He knows so much about the different types of dinosaurs, and he is only 4! It is pretty amazing. And he is a fan of all of the dinosaurs, unlike my oldest who only likes the nice dinosaurs, haha!
My sister and I share boys clothes because our kids are each a couple of months apart and it has worked perfectly for passing sizes back and forth. It’s been a real life saver in the financial department. I’ve barely bought any clothing for my kiddos because we share everything! I strongly recommend sharing clothing if you have a sibling or friend with a kiddo close to yours in age! Anyway, my sister had the first baby, and boy, have we gotten some epic dinosaur clothing from him. Dinosaur shirts, dinosaur sweatshirts, dinosaur socks and even a dinosaur button up!
And, although my kiddos don’t love dinosaurs as much as their cousin, this dinosaur sensory bin definitely delivered!

Materials
- Sensory bin – I use this storage container from Target
- Large bag of rice
- Landscape items (trees, plants and rocks)
- Small dinosaur figures
It was super simple to set up and my kids were in love! We got this neat dinosaur land set for Christmas and it has rocks, trees, plants and all sorts of dinosaurs in it. I just added the rocks, trees and plants to the rice bin, and then placed in the dinosaurs! You could also set up the landscape and then put all of the dinosaurs in a basket for your kiddos to add.
Let Them Play!
Once the boys saw this bin, their eyes lit up! They were eager to dive in and start playing. And that is exactly what I want in a sensory bin; Engaging, long-lasting, imaginative, educational fun!
They came back to this bin for hours! And the stories they created…OH THE STORIES! The nice dinosaurs were hiding from ‘the bad ones’, the babies had to find their mommies, they were digging for food, and on, and on, and on! If this sensory bin didn’t encourage them to use their imaginations, then I don’t know what possibly would!
