Disney Activity Bags
Planning a visit to Disney is super exciting! Waiting in all of the lines and for dinner reservations? Not so fun. Especially if you are 4 and hangry, haha.
So, when planning our visit to Disney World, I knew I needed to pack activities to keep the kiddos busy during all of the waiting time. That is where the activity bags come in.
I have been packing activity bags since my oldest was a baby. And I have never regretted having one with me.
What you put in your bag is completely up to you and what you think will occupy your little, but I have a few items that are winners with pretty much any kid.
What Is Inside?
My activity bags are always very carefully thought out, and I often choose different items for each of my kids since they are all different little people.
With the Disney bags, I stayed pretty basic and tried to give a whole lot of variety in a little package.
The Bag
Now, you can use whatever you have at home here, or really get creative. I chose to go with a pencil case for a few reasons.
1. It zips closed so nothing will spill out.
2. It’s small enough to fit inside a backpack or other bag that you will carry around the park.
3. It has 3 holes along the edge, meaning that you can attach it to a keychain or lanyard to easily keep track of.
4. Since it’s compact, it won’t take up much room on the table inside of a restaurant.
5. The clear front allows you to see what’s inside without even opening it.
6. Being a pencil case, it’s the perfect size for just that…pencils, markers, and crayons!
7. They come in a variety of colors so each kiddo can have their own.
8. The compact, zipper design makes this bag perfect to carry with you while waiting in line and then store during the ride.
9. It may be small, but you can fit a lot inside!
10. With the added vinyl decal, it’s just adorable!
The Activities
This is where you can stay really simple or get creative. It’s completely up to you!
I included a variety of activities because kids get bored easily and enjoy having something different to move on to.
Here is what you’ll find inside one of our Disney Activity Bags:
- Small blank book with 40 pages for writing/drawing/stickers – Using my Cricut Joy (I am obsessed with that thing!) I even added a fun Disney decal to the outside of each book!
- 2 sheets of stickers
- 1 Crayon Stacker – what a brilliant way to have the rainbow at your fingertips!
- 1 squishy
- 3 animal figures
- 1 resin fidget spinner – I handmake these in whatever colors you’d like!
- 1 small game
- 1 container with connecting pieces – these are the smallest things that I include
- And a one-of-a-kind Disney activity pack in little kid or big kid versions that I made specifically for this Magical trip
But, Why These Activities?
Variety, that’s why. If you look at the contents of our bag, we have:
- Art
- Building
- Cognitive stimulation
- Fidget toy
- Imaginative play
- Fine Motor
- Sensory experience
- And much more
This activity bag hits on a variety of skills, senses, and experiences; which is exactly what I was aiming for.
Your kiddo might start by coloring, get bored and move onto spinning the fidget spinner for a while. When that isn’t interesting anymore, they may decide to build something with the connecting pieces. After they’ve built, they may move back to their book to add stickers. Maybe they’ll try to beat the game next, then explore and imagine with the small animals.
See my point? When they are tired of one activity, there is always something completely different to engage them.
