In our home, we like to go on walks. We have a dog who just loves to explore the neighborhood, so we try to walk her as often as we can.

Sometimes, the humans don’t want to walk as much as the dog does. On days like that, I whip out our Neighborhood Bingo Game. It immediately changes the tone, and the kids are excited to get started! Let’s break it down:

How To
This one is pretty straight forward. It just takes a little bit of prep on the front end.
- Grab your cardboard and cut it down to size. Mine is 8.5 x 11 like a standard piece of paper, but you can do whatever works for you!
- Take your paint pens and draw a Bingo grid on your paper
- Begin by drawing one item in each box that you know you will see on your walk. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- grass
- sun
- clouds
- flowers
- mailbox
- package
- tree
- bicycle
- car
- delivery truck
- ball
- bird
- garbage can
- house
- street sign
- sprinkler
- airplane
- swing set
- Now that your grid is finished, take the kids outside and get walking!

Enjoy!
You may need to get creative when filling out your Bingo board. I had a hard time coming up with the final 3-4 items, so I started thinking about animals that we might see and some of the items that my neighbors may leave out on their lawn. Get creative!
As far as the Bingo part goes, moving chips would be difficult to keep in place on a walk. I would recommend using dot stickers or even something sticky like sticky tac to keep track of what you have seen. You could also bring no stickers with and use it more as a scavenger hunt where your kiddos are trying to see how many items they can spot.
