Valentine’s Heart Craft – I Love You To Pieces!

Holy cow! How is it already February?! January seems to have flown by this year. Is it just me?

Well, with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, it is time to get into the spirit of love and crafting! This year, especially, I think everyone could use a little more love. Since we are still in the middle of a Pandemic, my kiddos are being homeschooled and we won’t be going to see the cousins or grandparents this year. It makes it a bit harder to spread the love when you can’t actually see people. So, what do we do? Why, we mail the love, of course!

These valentines are the perfect engaging activity to occupy your kiddos for an afternoon AND put a huge smile on your relative’s (and friend’s) faces. They are a blend of the hundreds of ‘Love You To Pieces’ crafts that have flooded my Pinterest and an amazing rainbow valentine over at Days With Grey that I am pretty obsessed with!

Let’s break it down!

Materials

How To

  1. Print these hearts as your valentine base (or cut out 2 large hearts on red cardstock)
  2. Cut a variety of construction paper (we chose to use rainbow colors) into small squares
  3. Hand your kiddos one cardstock heart, the cut construction paper in a basket, and a glue stick
  4. Have your kiddos glue the construction paper all over the heart. We went until the entire heart was covered, but you can use less if you’d like!
  5. Cut the other cardstock heart in half, vertically, while your child is gluing
  6. Once dry, trim off any overhanging paper and glue or staple the cut heart on top of the one your child decorated. Be sure to only glue/staple a small portion of the heart flaps. You want to be able to open them still!
  7. Using a marker, write I Love You To Pieces! on the outside heart
  8. Now, grab those stickers or stamps and let your child decorate the outside!
  9. The last thing to do is get those beautiful hearts in the mail to spread some valentines love!

It is truly that easy!

Spread Some Love!

This past year has been difficult across the globe. With the Pandemic, Stay at Home Orders, Homeschooling, working from home, cancelled trips and missed family gatherings; it has been A LOT! Almost a year later, I think that most people thought we’d be back to some sort of normal by now. Unfortunately, that is not the case for most.

So, I felt that this holiday was the perfect opportunity to spread some love! And these cards will surely put a smile on the every face that receives one.

Now, get out there and send some love!
