How To Tackle Spring as a Mom

Spring is in the air and so is your schedule! Gone are the slow winter days are early evenings. We are gearing up for spring sports, concerts, end of the school year festivities and, yes, even summer!

Spring is a magical season where the world around us wakes up, but don’t blink because it flies by! Here are my favorite ways to conquer spring so I can enjoy the beautiful weather and exciting adventures that spring brings!

Organize!

Spring cleaning is a real thing and I’m willing to bet that you have felt that cleaning energy as the weather warms up. If you are anything like me, you look around your house after the long holiday season and think…where in the heck did all of this stuff come from and where am I supposed to put it now?! Don’t panic, we all feel that way! New toys from Christmas, candy from Valentine’s Day, gift baskets from the Easter Bunny, shoes that no longer fit, clothes that are out of season; it sneaks up on us! But I am here for a good organization session. Here are some of our favorite household products to get your life back on track!

Water Bottle Organizer

This thing has been a game changer for us! Between school, sports, and just life in general, our kids have soooo many water bottles. Every time I went into the cabinet to retrieve one, they would all topple over! I have loved being able to slide the water bottles in and still see what I have. Plus, it takes up the same amount of space as the water bottles just sitting on the shelf!

Kitchen Bag Organizer

Can I simply put the Ziploc boxes in a drawer? Sure. Does it look as pretty? Definitely not! And I would argue that this organizer keeps my drawer soooo much neater than throwing all of the boxes in it. Everything has a place and everyone can see what is where. No more leaving the foil out on the counter or mixing up bag sizes. This organizer is the perfect solution! Just be sure to check the dimensions and measure your drawer before purchasing. It was a bit taller than I expected!

Under the Sink Storage

You know that mess of cleaning supplies under your sink? Do you really know what you have under there? It’s so easy for products to get lost in that blackhole of space under the sink. Get it organized with an under the sink organizer!

Spice Rack Drawer Organizer

You want your spices within arm’s reach, but you don’t want them sitting out on your counter. Problem solved!

Cleaning Supply Holder

Time to sweep up a mess, but where did the broom go?! Is it in the front closet? The laundry room? Did your partner put it in the garage? Were the kids playing with it again?! I have lost track of our cleaning supplies too many times to count. But, no more! Keep them all in one place with this wonderful organizer!

Drawer Organizer

I love a good drawer organizer. Keep those utensils where you can see them and make meal prep just a little less stressful!

Clear Bins

What can you use them for? Literally, EVERYTHING!

Small Clear Bins

These small bins are perfect to use in drawers in the kitchen, pantry, bathrooms, and even for small toys!

Trunk Organizer

Technically this one is for the car, but I still consider it a household necessity. I use this baby to keep groceries from rolling around my trunk. I also use it to pack items for the beach, cub scout meetings, park birthday parties, and simply to carry things into the house! It does a lot of multitasking for our family!

Stuffy Zoo

My parents have one of these at their house and my boys go crazy when we visit! They just love throwing stuffies in and then pulling them back out through the sides. A great way to keep those stuffies in one location!

Large Hefty Containers

We LOVE these containers! I use them for just about everything; toys out of rotation, large toys that don’t fit in a smaller bin, out of season clothes, outdoor toys, cleaning supplies, books, art supplies, etc. Just EVERYTHING! We even used them during our several moves over the past decade! And they have extra room at the top so you can really stuff them full!

Small Hefty Containers

These small Hefty containers are just like their big brother versions, only perfect for things you’d like to access on a regular basis. Think the play doh supplies, crayons and markers, small toy animals, play kitchen food, Legos, pantry snacks, etc. They are perfect to stack and store wherever it is convenient while still having that extra lid space to really stuff them full!

Spring Gear for the Kids

With the weather warming up, the kids are itching to get outside and play! But you might need to freshen up on some new gear to get the most out of this season. Here are some of our favorites:

Bikes

There are tons of bike brands out there and a lot of them are really great! This is the bike that we started all 4 of our kids on and just bumped up the size as they got older and more experienced.

Bike Helmet

Again, there are some great helmets out there! This is the style that we decided to go with and with a range of colors, there is something for everyone! Plus, with an adjustable knob on the back, it grows with your kiddo!

Archery Set

I never thought that I would be the parent that allowed my kids to use an archery set. But let me tell you, it has been fabulous! The boys have loved shooting at the targets and ‘patrolling’ the neighborhood. Our rule is that you can’t shoot at people. But allowing them to practice this skill has been fun to watch!

Kid’s Outdoor Chair

Having a chair of their own is a proud moment for any kid! My kiddos like to pull their chairs out and use pinecones as food to create a little campsite for themselves. It is adorable to watch the imaginative play!

Javelins

We are in the middle of track season right now, and javelin is one of the events for our kids. Having these at home has been the perfect way for my little track star to practice throwing and has been fun for all of the boys to try their hand at!

Root Viewer

This set is an awesome way to show kids how their food is grown and to get them interested in planting their own garden! Spring is the perfect time to get into the gardening spirit!

Rocket Launcher

My kids have been obsessed with their rocket launcher for years now! It provides endless entertainment to launch a rocket and then run to retrieve it and do it all over again!

Spring is such a fun time to get back out into nature, experience some team sports, and make new family memories. Just make sure you are prepared or it will fly by!
