Easy Preschool Halloween Spider Web Letter Match

I absolutely love October! And not just because it’s my birthday month (wink, wink). I love how the season slowly changes with a colorful leaf display, the morning air is crisp and cool, apples are prime for picking, and warm drinks are found in abundance. It’s just such a beautiful time of year!

As a child, my favorite thing about October (besides my birthday, of course!) was Halloween! Dressing up, staying out late and gorging myself on sweet treats. What’s not to love?!

Now that I have children of my own, I want to create as many beautiful memories of this month as possible. That means apple picking, the pumpkin patch, farmers markets, decorating the house, enjoying Halloween, and plenty of fall themed activities!

It may not be normal for every child (who likes to be normal anyway?!), but my kids love it when I create activities for them to do. They are always asking for another set up and have even started creating some of their own!

We’ve already enjoyed our Feed the Ghost game and had some fun Stamping Apples. As I was searching for some new ideas, I wanted to focus a bit more on Halloween.

I was surfing over on Days with Grey (if you haven’t checked them out, please go do it. You won’t be disappointed!) and came across her adorable Spider Sticker Breakfast Invitation. I knew my kiddos would love it, but I wanted to change it up for my older Preschooler and Kindergartener just a bit!

I decided to focus on letters instead of colors, because we can always use a good letter activity! Here is what you’ll need to get started:

Materials:

How To:

1. Draw a spider web on your large white paper.

2. Draw dots with a letter inside, all over the spider web.

3. Add 8 legs to all of your ‘letter dots’ on the web.

4. Write the same letters (capital or lowercase, depending on what you are working on) on the dot stickers. Be sure each sticker has a match on the web!

5. Invite your littles to match the sticker letters to the spiders on the web.

This will stick with them!

This set up couldn’t be easier! It will keep your kiddos entertained and help them practice a valuable skill in the process. Letters are the foundation for so much learning. We can never practice them too much!
