Feed the Ghost – Halloween Activity for Toddlers

Fall is upon us! I feel like the first official day of Fall came and we got hit with cool temps and days of rain. As much as I love Fall, I was kind of hoping for a few more weeks of summer weather!

Even though the weather is not ideal right now, Fall always gets me excited for the upcoming fun to be had. Between apple picking, the pumpkin patch, cozy baking, and Halloween, is my favorite time of year! It also means that the holidays are right around the corner. And who doesn’t love the holidays?! I know I do!

So, while getting in the spirit of Fall, I wanted to create a seasonal way for my 2 year old to join in on the fun. Feed the Ghost was just the activity we needed!

Materials

How To

1. Start by cleaning out your container. We don’t want leftovers mixing with this activity!

2. cover your container in white paper and secure with glue or tape.

3. Using your box cutters, CAREFULLY cut out 2 small eye holes and one large mouth hole. It’s a ghost so it doesn’t need to be perfect! *parents only please!

4. Use your permanent marker to outline the mouth and eyes.

5. Place the pumpkins in a bowl beside the completed ghost.

6. Give your toddler tongs and invite them to feed the ghost!

Feed The Ghost!

This activity is so simple to set up, but provides infinite entertainment for your toddler! My little guy has had so much fun feeding the ghost! It is the perfect activity to pull out during dinner prep too.

Our 2 year old is all over the kitchen when it comes time to make dinner. He will climb into his helper so he can see what is happening on the counter tops.

Side note, if you don’t have a kitchen helper, I urge you to get one now! It is truly the best investment I ever made for my children. We’ve had it for 5 years now, it’s gone through 3 kids and it is still their favorite place!

So, when my little guy climbs into his helper, I’ll set this activity up to keep him entertained while I get dinner made. It is amazing! It kept him engaged long enough for me to make a meal. Perfect!

He just loves moving the little pumpkins over, one by one. When he’s done, he dumps them all out and starts over! What more could a mother ask for?!
